Much of what the group learned on this course will be invaluable as the group heads into the 2017-18 felling season and engages with new landowners. It is hoped that Heartwood will very soon be engaged in producing its own woodland management plans.
Thanks go to Mark Beer for organising the course and indeed all the training which members have benefitted from this summer and to the National Forest Company for use of its board room as a venue and Chris Conway at Leicestershire County Council for hosting us once again at Donisthorpe Woodlands.
The group will be meeting at Shortheath Farm on the 23rd of August to put their new skills into practice when we will be starting to create a management plan for the woodland. Anyone interested please contact a member of the committee.
